Perhaps I’m seeing judgement where it doesn’t exist, but just in case, please keep in mind that there are people in the world who use wheelchairs only sometimes. They can walk, but not very far. Most of them are adults and can have a damn drink if they want one. If you are sitting in judgement of this woman, please get back to me when you are 70 years old, walk with a cane, and still drink.

Yes, thank you Lord for sending that tornado that killed dozens of people.

This conflict has gotten a bit silly. We’ve gotten too wrapped up in language. We can all get along and Jesus Jesus God Worship God Jesus Jesus.
Repost if you you agree Jesus Jesus.

Conservative pundits like Bill O’Reilly and Rush Limbaugh went on rants that framed every woman who has ever gone through the health care system to get contraception as a nymphomaniac getting paid by the government to have sex.

Amanda Marcotte @ Slate - Obama Got Aggressive on Reproductive Rights, and Won.

Women People getting paid by the government to have sex? Now that’s a stimulus plan that I could really get behind.

Scientology’s Galactic Overlord Xenu

yamino:

The Church of Scientology accepts that intelligent life exists throughout the universe and has for millions of years. Xenu, a galactic overlord, features prominently in their mythology. Xenu’s actions have direct influence on how humanity on Earth has developed. However, this information is available only to Scientologists of considerable rank inline with their acceptance of revealing the truth is stages as followers are properly prepared.

Mythology of Xenu

75,00,000 years ago, Xenu headed the Galactic Federation, which was an organization of 76 planets that had already existed for 20,000,000 years. The planets were suffering a tremendous problem with overpopulation. Xenu’s draconian solution to the matter was to gather large numbers of people, kill them, freeze their thetans (souls), and transport the frozen thetans to Earth, which they called Teegeeack. The thetans were left in the vicinity of volcanoes, which were, in turn, destroyed in a series of nuclear explosions.

Members of the galactic Federation eventually rebelled against Xenu, fighting him for six years before he was finally captured and imprisoned on a planet that today is barren desert. Within the “mountain trap” on this unnamed world, Xenu still lives.

[T]ake the notion of “political correctness”. It is true that movements of conscience have piled demands onto people faster than the culture can absorb them. That is an unfortunate side-effect of social progress. Conservatism, however, twists language to make the inconvenience of conscience sound like a kind of oppression. The campaign against political correctness is thus a search-and-destroy campaign against all vestiges of conscience in society. The flamboyant nastiness of rhetors such as Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter represents the destruction of conscience as a type of liberation. They are like cultists, continually egging on their audiences to destroy their own minds by punching through one layer after another of their consciences.

Phil Agre on Political Correctness (via jonathan-cunningham)

Any time someone brings up “well I’m not ‘politically correct’” it calls for a mega-side eye. Because, what? Your desire to say whatever you want however you want to say it trumps the comfort and well-being of the people around you?
